1965 Slingerland set 22, 13, 16

White Marine Pearl

Here's a very nice 1965 Slingerland set in White Marine Pearl. The finish is in very nice condition, just a little faded to a milky white. The set consists of a 22 x 14 bassdrum, a 9 x 13 tomtom, a 16 x 16 floortom. The chrome is nice with some wear on the bassdrum T-rods. The railconsolette is in nice shape and good working. The shells are the 3ply maple-poplar-maple, maple interior. The shells have some little splinters from the factory drills, see pictures. The bearing edges are all original, look great, no seperation of the reinforcement hoops. Heads are newish Remo Ambassadors, bassdrum has the original Slingerland calfskin fronthead with the Slingerland logo and a Remo clear powerstroke batter side head. The front hoop is missing a little piece of the inlay, see pics.

All in all a real nice clean Slingerland with a beautiful full and warm sound.

Legholder bracket wingnuts are not original, these have been modified from push button to wingnuts, works well. This wingnut is missing one wing, the other two are nice.

Some of the holes are splintered as happens to be the case of lot of sixties Slingerlands shells. They used old drills? This does not affect the integraty of the shell, it just looks sloppy.
