1957 LEEDY DRUMSET BLACK DIAMOND PEARL

Here we have a late fifties Leedy 3 piece set in Black Diamond Pearl.

This set has the pre-serial Leedy Chicago badge. Leedy was owned by Slingerland since 1955 and this set has the same 3-ply shells mahogany inside. Big and warm sound. The hardware on the set is nickel over brass and has some of the usual patina. Floortomleg brackets have some rust on them. The bassdrum and tom have a Swivomatic holder installed, this is the good early sixties mount. The toms have Ambassadors on top and clear bottom heads, the bassdrum has one of it's original calfskin heads and an old Ambassador batterhead. So, the set is not a museum piece but very playable with a big vintage sound.
